CA Atra 10mg Capsules are an anti-tumor medication; their active ingredient is retinoic acid. It belongs to a class of drugs known as retinoids, which are similar to Vitamin A. It is used to treat a blood disorder called Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL) by slowing the growth of the diseased blood cells.
Do not take this medication if you are allergic to retinoic acid or any other ingredients in this product, or if you are currently taking other medications such as Vitamin A, tetracyclines, or other retinoids (e.g., isotretinoin, acitretin, tazarotene). Avoid consuming peanuts and soy products, as this medication contains soybean oil. If you have other health conditions—or have a history of, or are currently experiencing, mental health issues such as depression, mood swings, or aggressive behavior—please consult your doctor, as taking this medication may affect your mood.
Before taking this medication, please inform your healthcare professional if you are planning to become pregnant, are currently pregnant, or are breastfeeding. You should not become pregnant for at least one month after discontinuing this medication. Please use effective methods of contraception. If you have allergies or intolerances to certain sugars, please inform your doctor, as this medication contains sorbitol. Used for the treatment of Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL) and may also be used as a maintenance therapy.
[Dosage and Administration]
The recommended dosage is 40–80 mg per day (not to exceed a maximum of 0.12 g), taken orally in 2 to 4 divided doses. The standard course of treatment is 4 to 8 weeks; however, treatment with All-Trans Retinoic Acid Capsules may be required for three months or longer. Do not discontinue treatment unless advised to do so by your doctor. [Side Effects]
Dryness of the skin and mucous membranes, gastrointestinal reactions, dizziness, and joint pain; these symptoms typically resolve upon discontinuation of the medication.
[Contraindications] Contraindicated in pregnant women.
[Storage] Protect from light; keep tightly sealed and store in a cool, dry place.
[Precautions]
1. Liver function and blood lipid levels should be monitored during treatment with this product.
2. Do not use concurrently with tetracyclines or Vitamin A.
